Peer Pressure

Peer Pressure is another important issue during adolescence. Peer pressure is when you get influenced by members of a group or people you know. Peer pressure can lead you to do things you may not want to do. Peer Pressure during the adolescence stage mainly the prospects of drugs,smoking,alcohol and sexual activity. As many know these are very serious issues and should be optionally done when older. However due to peer pressure many adolescents participate activities, usually getting them into serious situations such as jail or death. 

Some tips to cope with peer pressure are:


  1. Firmly tell them 'No' - This usually indicates to them that you are not interested. If they persist repeat No!
  2. Do not try to follow others - if you can see that what they do is not appropriate they aren't being a good role model, then stop following them, stop imitating what they do.
  3. Consider all the factors when you do something. - Weigh up the possibilities of getting caught and not getting caught. If the unsafe possibilities out weigh the safe possibilities, then do not attempt it.

These tips will certainly help you cope with peer pressure!
